Akron Trail Marathon - July 11, 2026
The Akron Trail Marathon is a trail running event in Akron, Ohio, organized by Fast Girls Running Company and scheduled for July 11, 2026. The race area centers on the Memorial Parkway trailhead and moves through downtown and Summit Metro Parks.
The course begins with an out and back into the city, follows the locks out of downtown, then proceeds north on the Towpath Trail. After the Towpath the route continues onto the rugged trails of Summit Metro Parks, running alongside the Cuyahoga River.
Distances
- Marathon over varied trail surfaces with over 2,000 feet of elevation gain.
- Half marathon mix of crushed limestone trail, rugged hills, and a hilly road section.
- 10K about four miles of crushed limestone and two miles of rugged hills.
There are six water stops on the marathon route, four on the half, and one on the 10K. Water and sports drink will be provided; snacks will be available at the Oxbow aid station for half and full participants. Runners are advised to carry a handheld water bottle as July conditions are likely to be hot and humid. The course has fewer water stops than a typical road course.
Cutoff times are seven hours for the full and four hours for the half. Awards are given to first and second overall male and female and to masters male and female in each distance. All finishers receive a medal. Price includes a medal and a t-shirt with a guaranteed size cutoff of June 14. Packet pickup is Friday, July 10 from 4:30 to 7:00 pm at Second Sole Akron and on race day morning for out of town guests; registration closes July 9 at 11:59 pm ET.
