Akron Pride 5K
The Akron Pride Festival 5K is a community 5-kilometer run and walk held in downtown Akron, Ohio, as part of the city’s Pride Festival and the Akron Promise City Series. The event includes an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option and features a start and finish area in downtown Akron.
Registrants receive a T-shirt with sizes from Youth Large to Adult 3X-Large; to be guaranteed a shirt size, registration by August 1 is recommended. A discounted No Shirt option is available for a $5 reduction. All participants receive a pride finisher medal.
Packet pick-up is scheduled at the Akron Art Museum the day before the in-person race; virtual registrants may pick up packets there or choose to have shirts mailed for an additional $5. Items for mailed shirts are scheduled to ship after the event and are expected to arrive by August 31, 2026.
The in-person race awards certificates and prizes to the top three overall in male, female, and non-binary categories and to the top three in each of 15 age groups ranging from 9-under through 75 and up. Winners must be present at the post-race event to collect prizes. The virtual event does not include certificates or awards.
The Akron Pride Festival 5K is listed as an official Akron Bicentennial event and is included in the Akron Promise series that awards additional medals to people who participate in at least five series events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
