Akron Pride 5K
The Akron Pride Festival 5K is a community road event held in downtown Akron, Ohio, on August 21, 2026. The event includes an in-person 5K Run/Walk and a Virtual 5K Run/Walk. It is presented as part of the Akron Promise City Series and is an official Akron Bicentennial event.
Event services and logistics include runner packet pick-up at the Akron Art Museum on August 20 and additional packet pick-up downtown on August 21. All registrants receive a T-shirt; a no-shirt option is available for a reduced fee. To be guaranteed a shirt size, registration should be completed by August 1. Virtual registrants may pick up packets at the museum on August 20 or opt to have shirts mailed for an additional fee; mailed items are scheduled to ship after the event and are expected to be received by August 31.
The in-person event will present certificates and prizes to top finishers in overall and age-group categories, including recognition for male, female, and non-binary divisions. Winners must be present at the post-race event to receive awards; prizes and certificates will not be mailed after August 21. The Akron Promise City Series awards medals to participants who complete at least five events. Akron Promise was founded in 2016 to support educational and community resources in Akron.
