Akron Pickle Fest 5K
The Akron Pickle Fest 5K serves as the opening event for the Akron Pickle Fest in Downtown Akron. This running and walking event takes place at 200 S Main St and coincides with a festival celebrating the local production of pickles that has been established in the area since 2009.
The race features several categories for participants:
- 5K for Adults
- 5K for Youth
- 5K Run with Your Dog
The "Run with Your Dog" division is a specific category where participants can complete the course alongside their pets. Every person who finishes the race receives a finisher medal, while those in the dog division receive a finisher gift. The main festival opens to the public immediately following the conclusion of the race awards.
Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women. Recognition is also provided for the top three finishers in various age groups, starting from age 14 and under, extending through five-year increments up to age 80 and over.
