Running Events in Ewa Beach
The Akahai 5K, 10K & Half Marathon is an annual running event held in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. The race takes place near Wai Kai, a resort destination on the island of O'ahu. This event marks the fifth edition of the competition and is organized by Aloha Racing.
Participants can choose from three different race distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The courses are designed to be flat and fast, providing runners with views of the local landscape and landmarks. The route passes the Hoakalei Country Club and the Ernie Els signature golf course, which serves as the host site for the LPGA LOTTE Championship. Additionally, the course features views of the Leeward Coast at Nimitz Beach.
The event is held in January and follows a similar route to its sister race, Laule'a, which takes place in July. The registration period for these races typically opens several months in advance.
