Akahai Half Marathon
Akahai is a running event held at Wai Kai near Nimitz Beach in Ewa Beach, Oahu. The event offers three distances and courses that pass the Hoakalei Country Club, Ernie Els’ signature golf course, and views of the Leeward Coast.

Courses are measured at least three times. Surface mixes vary by distance; the listing includes asphalt, asphalt with adjacent soft surface, and concrete. Routes include turnarounds on Keone’ula Boulevard, Waipana Street, Geiger Road, and Coral Sea Road. Aid stations are placed on average about one mile apart and provide water, electrolytes, energy options and first aid. Medical crews are present at each start and finish area.
Race features provided for all participants include finisher medals, cooling towels, souvenir bibs with personalization options for early registrants, free race photos, gear check, porta toilets, disposable timing chips and electronic results. Post race meal options include breakfast burritos and chocolate milk with vegetarian choices, available as an add on. Prizes and age group awards cover ten year divisions from 0 to 99.
