AirVenture Runway 5K
The AirVenture Runway 5K is a charity run/walk held on the EAA AirVenture grounds. The course tours the event site and routes participants among parked aircraft, open fields, and evergreen trees, offering a view of the grounds from within the event area.
The event is open to walkers and runners of varying experience levels. Participants start together on the AirVenture grounds and move along a marked course that passes aircraft displays and event spaces. Shower facilities are available on the grounds for participants after the event.
Gear Check is provided on site and closes later in the morning; items left after Gear Check closes are transferred to the main Lost and Found next to Convention HQ on the west side of Hangar A. Proceeds from the run benefit the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit.
The Runway 5K is presented as part of the AirVenture attractions and is scheduled during the AirVenture dates for the year in which it runs. Results from prior years are recorded and available through the event's posted results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
