AirVenture Runway 5K
The AirVenture Runway 5K is a charity run and walk held as part of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. The course runs through the AirVenture grounds and routes participants among aircraft displayed on the field, offering a view of the event layout from a pedestrian perspective. The event is presented as a fun run and walk and is described as welcoming walkers, first-time runners, and more experienced participants.
The course passes aircraft-lined areas and takes participants across the grounds during the morning hours. Shower facilities are available on the event grounds. A gear check is provided; items left after gear check closes are transferred to the main Lost and Found, located across Knapp Street from the FAA control tower. The Runway 5K is scheduled for July 31, 2027, within the dates of the AirVenture gathering, and results from prior years are maintained separately.
Participants may remain on the grounds after the event to visit AirVenture attractions and exhibits that run throughout the day. The Runway 5K is described as a community activity within the larger AirVenture program that links physical activity with the aviation displays and event facilities.
