Airport Night to Light 5K
The Airport Night to Light 5K is a first-year fundraising event held at Goshen Airport on October 17, 2026. The event supports Stay Indiana, an afterschool program for high school students to learn about aviation and develop skills for careers as pilots, mechanics, or airport workers. The event includes a race experience on an airport runway and post-race refreshments in a hangar.
Distances:
- 5K timed entry
- Mile walk not timed
The course runs entirely on a smooth, paved surface. The runway is described as approximately two large lanes wide and about one mile long, with a 300-foot connector to the opposite direction. Blue runway lights will be on at the start, and participants may experience the approach of sunrise. Strollers are allowed and the course is separated from auto traffic.
Packet pickup is available on the Wednesday and Friday before the race and on the morning of the event at the airport; locations include Fleet Feet Mishawaka and Abshire Park Cabin in Goshen. Race fees include a custom t-shirt, a finisher medal for participants, and refreshments in the hangar. The organizer will place the shirt order on October 1, so size requests are subject to that deadline. Parking will be directed near the start area via Gate 7. Dogs are not allowed on site. Volunteers are welcome and can coordinate availability with organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
