2026 Aiken Turkey Trot and 1-Mile Fun Run
The Aiken Turkey Trot returns for its 15th annual edition on Thanksgiving Day at Citizen's Park in Aiken, South Carolina. This community event features a paved, flat course that starts and finishes near the park entrance off Pine Log Road. The event serves as a fundraiser for the local Toys for Tots program, and participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation.
Participants have several event options to choose from:
- 1-Mile Fun Run: A non-timed run.
- 5K Non-Chip Timed: A 3.1-mile run without official timing.
- 5K Chip Timed: A 3.1-mile run with electronic chip timing.
The 5K Chip Timed race includes awards for the overall top male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in various age divisions ranging from 12 and under to 70 and up. Winners in these categories receive a commemorative mug. All finishers across all events receive a 2026 commemorative medal.
The event atmosphere includes a costume contest where two participants in Thanksgiving-themed attire can receive gift cards. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted on the course. While walking is allowed, participants are asked to maintain space for runners to pass. Participants who register by the early November deadline are guaranteed an event t-shirt.
