Event Overview
The Afterlife 5K is a themed run and walk held at the Heritage Recreation Center and the Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail in Puyallup, Washington. This Halloween-themed event features a 5 km distance where participants are encouraged to wear costumes. At the conclusion of the event, every finisher receives a medal selected from a collection of past races.
Course Details
The 5 km route is a paved course that traverses the forested wetlands of the Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail. The terrain consists of flat sections combined with gentle slopes. The race starts at the Heritage Recreation Center, circling the baseball fields before heading south. Participants complete a large counterclockwise loop through South Hill Park and return via the forested trail toward the lower soccer fields. The final stretch follows 94th Avenue and passes through the parking lot near Zeiger Elementary, finishing between fields 2 and 3 within the sports complex.
Timing and Logistics
This event is not chip timed and the course is not USATF certified. A timing clock is provided at the finish line for participants to view their overall time. Registration is available in advance or on the day of the event at the check-in area. Parking for the event is located at the Heritage Recreation Center, accessible via the 128th Street entrance.
