Afterlife 5K
The Afterlife 5K is a Halloween themed run and walk held on October 17, 2026 at the Heritage Recreation Center and the Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail in Pierce County, Washington. Costumes are encouraged and finishers choose a commemorative medal from races past, each presented with its own story.
The paved 5K course runs on the forested Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail and includes a mix of flat sections and gentle slopes. The route starts at the Heritage Recreation Center, circles the baseball fields, then heads south onto the trail for a large counterclockwise loop through South Hill Park. The course connects through forested wetlands back toward the lower soccer fields at the recreation center, continues north along 94th Avenue, passes through the lower parking lot adjacent to Zeiger Elementary, and finishes between fields 2 and 3 inside the sports complex.
The event is not chip timed and is not USATF certified; a timing clock at the finish line will record overall times.
Pre registration is available for a fee of $15 per person with an online deadline of October 11, 2026 or until full. Day of registration is offered at a higher fee of $20 per person. Parking is available at the Heritage Recreation Center via the 128th Street entrance at 9010 128th St. E., Puyallup, WA 98375. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
