Ruck The Mountain

About the race

Ruck the Mountain at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville, Michigan, on October 24, 2026, is a community health and wellness event built around an untimed 6 mile ruck and a short free run. The ruck route is a six mile loop on resort property and includes both flat sections and steep inclines. The event is not a race.

Distances and event types:

• 6 miles Ruck the Mountain (divisions for 16 and up and 15 and under)
• 1 mile Run the Mountain free fun run

A team of physicians, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, and recovery specialists will be available at a central Lodge Pavilion Tent and Lawn area to provide hands-on assessments and consultations. All specialist time is donated. Paid ruck participants receive a registration packet that includes a lunch ticket, a patch and decal, a Crystal Mountain tote bag, and resort coupons such as buy-one-get-one alpine slide and chairlift passes, 10% off food and beverage, and 50% off a Four Seasons Club initiation fee. The free Run the Mountain event requires a signed waiver and does not include lunch or ruck participant perks.

Participants who wish to hike with a pack or ruck must provide their own equipment; packs are optional. A lodging discount is available for select dates around the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
