Event overview
Adventure Fest is a weekend outdoor festival held at the North Fruita Desert Trailhead near Fruita, CO on May 9-10, 2026. The festival includes races, clinics, guided canyoneering, kids’ activities, merchandise sales, on-site camping, sponsor booths, and community events such as a bonfire awards gathering and a glowstick night ride.
Races and distances
The weekend features multiple race formats across trail, mountain bike, and gravel disciplines, including:
- 13.8 miles Fruita Trail Half Marathon, a loop on singletrack with short steep climbs and descents
- 50K Sarlacc Attack Long Course (3,400 ft climb) mountain bike race
- 50K Dirty Edge Gravel Race (2,700 ft climb)
- Sarlacc Attack Short Course and Sarlacc Zippity 22K options
A two-day challenge called Fruita AF pairs a Saturday mountain bike event with a Sunday half marathon or gravel race; finishers of both days receive a special finisher’s award.
Clinics, canyoneering and kids’ activities
A free women’s gravel clinic and a group gravel course preview ride are scheduled. Guided canyoneering trips in Colorado National Monument are offered for ages 8 and up; the program includes hiking, scrambling, chimney moves, slot canyon travel and rappels up to 100 feet, with a stated cost of $150.
Camping and registration
Event campsites are reserved for participants and include a fire ring, concrete picnic table, 12' x 12' tent pad and graveled parking. Vault toilets are nearby; there is no water, electricity or garbage service. Each site is limited to ten people and two vehicles.
