Adventure Fest at 18 Road
Adventure Fest is a weekend outdoor festival held at the North Fruita Desert trailhead in Fruita, Colorado. The event uses the 18 Road trail system and combines trail running, gravel and mountain bike races, clinics, guided canyoneering, family activities, and event camping.
Key race distances and formats include:
- 55K Spring Desert Ultra on The Edge, Sarlacc and Cicada trails
- 13.8 mile Fruita Trail Half Marathon loop on singletrack
- 50K Dirty Edge Gravel Race
- Sarlacc Attack long and short course mountain bike races
Course and aid station details are published for each race. The Fruita Trail Half is a 13.8 mile loop with about 1,000 feet of climbing and three aid stations: Chutes and Ladders (3.5 miles), Frontside (7.5 miles), and Western (11.4 miles). The Spring Desert Ultra is listed at roughly 34.8 miles with about 4,100 feet of elevation gain, 100 percent dirt surface, and multiple numbered aid stations. Aid stations typically offer gels, sports drink, water, skittles and potato chips; cups are not provided and NSAIDs are not supplied. Radio contact and basic medical supplies are available at aid stations.
Additional offerings include guided canyoneering in Colorado National Monument with Glenwood Climbing Guides, a women's gravel clinic and group ride, kids' balance and beginner MTB races, and evening community activities. Event campsites are reserved for the festival and include a fire ring, concrete picnic table, 12 by 12 foot tent pad, graveled parking, and nearby vault toilets. There is no water, electricity, or garbage service at campsites; campers must bring firewood.
