The event raises funds for St David’s Hospice Care. Organisers report more than £1,100,000 raised for the hospice since 2013. All proceeds are used to support hospice patients throughout South East Wales and Lower Powys. The hospice reports recent activity figures including 3,736 patients supported in the last year, 2,234 new referrals to clinical nurse specialists, about 40,000 hours of Hospice at Home care, and 305 inpatient admissions with an average stay of 11 days. A VIP package is available for runners who pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £150.
