Event overview
The KLA City of Newport Half Marathon takes place on 01 March 2026. The race follows a route through the City of Newport and the historic village of Caerleon. The event start location is on Usk Way, Newport NP20 2BP, and the event HQ is at the University of Wales Newport Campus, Usk Way, Newport NP20 2BP. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and category prizes are awarded. Finisher t-shirts are optional at registration; entrants can decline a t-shirt and donate the equivalent cost to St David’s Hospice Care. All proceeds from the event are used to provide hospice services in the local community.
Entries, fees and rules
Entries open on 22 October 2025. Early bird prices (22–31 Oct 2025) are: affiliated £28 and unaffiliated £30. Standard entry prices (22 Oct–15 Feb 2026) are: affiliated £38 and unaffiliated £40. St David’s Hospice Care charity places are available from 22 Oct 2025 until 01 Feb 2026 at £15. The event is a licensed race run under UKA terms and conditions. The use of in-ear headphones is prohibited on the course where the rule applies; bone-conduction devices that do not sit in the ear are noted as acceptable under the technical rules, subject to the organiser’s discretion.
