Active Life Oysterman Triathlon
The Active Life Oysterman Triathlon takes place in Whitstable on Sunday 23rd August 2026 with race activity based around Tankerton Slopes and Marine Parade.
- 500 m swim
- 20 km bike
- 5 km run
The swim is a tidal 500 m sea course staged during slack water; participants are advised to prepare for an effective swim length of about 750 m. Organisers may direct swimmers back to shore after 25 minutes for safety. There will be three swim start waves and individual swim start times are issued in pre-race information.
The bike uses a single lap on quiet but open roads, mixing coastal, suburban and rural sections. The 20 km course records about 131 m of total ascent. The run is a 5 km route across the lawns of Tankerton Slopes, finishing with sea views.
Participants must register at the event registration desk and racked bikes must be placed in the transition area; morning registration and an evening-before registration window are available. Relay teams of two or three may enter; teams receive one race pack and each team member may complete up to two race sections. Non-British Triathlon members must purchase a Race Pass.
Whitstable is accessible via the M2 and by direct trains from London; the event area is about one mile from the station. Free parking is available along Marine Parade and nearby streets, with alternative car parks at Tankerton Road and Gorrel Tank; note height barriers and restricted bays near the transition exit. Organisers are seeking volunteers to assist on event day.
Pricing tiers are Early Early Bird £70 until 28 February, Early Bird £75 until 31 May, and Standard £80 from 1 June. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
