Rockin' Summer 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon - Whittier Narrows Recreation Area
The Rockin' Summer event takes place on July 19, 2026 at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area. The event offers four distance options on a park trail course laid out as marked out-and-back loops. The course is open to other trail users; participants are asked to be courteous to pedestrians, runners, and cyclists.
Distances offered:
- 5k out-and-back route
- 10k two 5k loops
- 15k three 5k loops
- Half marathon three 4.36-mile out-and-back loops
An aid station is located at the turnaround near the start/finish and provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and energy gels. Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free photos and videos, posted results within 12–24 hours, and a variety of snacks and samples. A 3:15 time limit applies to the half marathon; earlier starts may be arranged with the organizer.
Race day registration fees are listed for each distance. Parking at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area is paid; a standard vehicle fee applies with reduced parking for adults 65 and over and for disabled visitors.
