Rockin’ Summer Running Event at Whittier Narrows
The Rockin' Summer event is organized by ABWR and takes place at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, California. This running event offers multiple distances on an open course within the park. Participants use a shared path, and the routes are designed as out and back loops.
Available distances include:
- 5k out and back route
- 10k consisting of two 5k loops
- 15k consisting of three 5k loops
- Half Marathon consisting of three 4.36 mile out and back loops
The course is located at the Whittier Narrows Area D Parking Lot. The path is marked, and an aid station is positioned at the turnaround at the start and finish line. This station provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade, and energy gels. Results are posted online within 12-24 hours following the event.
Registration includes several items for participants, such as custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, and an assortment of snacks and samples. Photos and videos of the event are also provided. The event is open to various experience levels and serves as a family-oriented activity.
