Rockin' Summer 5k, 10k, 15k and Half Marathon at Whittier Narrows
The event takes place at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, California on July 19, 2026. It uses marked out and back loops on the park trail and is an open course shared with pedestrians, runners and cyclists.
Distances offered:
- 5k out and back on the park trail
- 10k two 5k loops
- 15k three 5k loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile out and back segments
An aid station is located at the turnaround at the start and finish and provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups and Gu gels. Course maps and marked routes are provided to help runners follow the loops.
Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, posted results within 12 to 24 hours, and an assortment of snacks and samples. Transfers are allowed by request and there is a no refund policy. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit.
Race day registration accepts cash, Venmo, Zelle or PayPal with published fees for each distance. Parking at Whittier Narrows is charged per vehicle with discounted parking available for older adults and people with disabilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
