Lake Balboa Turkey Trot Van Nuys
The event is a multi-distance Turkey Trot at Woodley Park in Lake Balboa, Van Nuys on Thanksgiving Day. Distances offered are:
- 5k
- 10k
- 15k
- Half marathon
The 5k is one loop, the 10k two loops, and the 15k three loops with an aid station each loop. The half marathon uses three 4.36 mile loops with an aid station at every loop. The course is an open out-and-back style route that is easy to follow, with one small hill about 0.6 miles from the start. Participants must use the pedestrian tunnel and must not cross Woodley Ave.
Aid stations provide water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. Chip timing and live results are available, and finisher items include custom medals and drawstring goodie bags. Event photos and video highlights are provided and tied to bib numbers. Age group awards are available for race-day pickup only. Performance shirts can be purchased separately.
Bib pick up is offered the day before at Woodley Park with time to be confirmed and on race morning at Woodley Park. Parking is available in the park lots off Woodley Ave and Victory Blvd and in a dirt overflow lot near the golf course. The event is organized by A Better World Running. Transfers are allowed by request to the organizer and there is a no refund policy. A 3 hour 15 minute course time limit is in place. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
