Lake Balboa Turkey Trot - Van Nuys
The Lake Balboa Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Woodley Park in Lake Balboa, Van Nuys, Los Angeles. The event offers multiple distances around the park and uses looped and out-and-back course layouts.
Distances
- 5k : one loop
- 10k : two loops
- 15k : three loops
- Half marathon : three 4.36 mile loops
The course is an open course shared with pedestrians and cyclists. Runners pass through a pedestrian tunnel and must not cross Woodley Ave. The route includes one small hill about 0.6 miles from the start; aid stations provide water, bottles, Gatorade cups, and gel at each loop. There is a 3 hour 15 minute time limit; requests for an early start can be made with the organizer.
Registration and race day Registration is available through third party platforms and there are race day registration options. Race day fees are listed as 5k $35, 10k $40, 15k $45, and half marathon $50 without shirts. Performance shirts are available for purchase for $9.99.
Logistics Bib pickup is available the day before at Woodley Park and on race morning. Parking is in the Woodley Ave and Victory Blvd lots with an additional dirt overflow lot near the golf course.
