About the race
The Luz y Vida event at Ryan Bonaminio Park in Riverside on November 1, 2026 offers multiple race distances to mark Dia de los Muertos. The course uses the park shared path and consists of marked out and back loops.
Distances offered:
- 5 km out and back
- 10 km two 5 km loops
- 15 km three 5 km loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile loops
An aid station at the turnaround near the start/finish supplies water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. Park restrooms are located about 200–300 m (roughly a 5 minute walk) from the start/finish area; this is the only restroom on the course. The course is open to the public; participants should be courteous to pedestrians, runners, and cyclists on the shared path.
Participants may not run with dogs; strollers are allowed. The half marathon has a 3:15 time limit; additional time requests must be made through the organizer. Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free videos and photos by bib, live results, trophies and achievement badges, an event app, snacks, and age group awards (awards must be picked up at the race). Parking is free in the park lot and on Tequesquite Avenue. The organizer notes there are no refunds and transfers require organizer approval.
