Summer Sensation 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon - Long Beach
The Summer Sensation event on August 15, 2026 takes place along the Long Beach shore path in Belmont Shores, at 5400 E. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90803. The course uses the beach path and is an open course; participants are asked to be courteous to pedestrians, other runners, and cyclists. The marked route consists of out-and-back loops.
An aid station is located at the turnaround at the start/finish and supplies water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. Looping formats are provided for each distance and the half marathon follows three 4.36-mile loops. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit. Transfers are allowed through the organizer; there is a no-refund policy.
Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free videos, live results at finish, free photos located by bib, cinematic race highlight reels, trophies and achievement badges, an Ascend Index ranking and app features to follow friends. An assortment of snacks and samples is provided. Race day registration fees are listed for each distance and multiple payment methods are accepted. Parking is free in the residential area; a paid beach parking lot is available with a ticket machine or Passport Parking app (zone 9372). Volunteers may earn a free race entry.
