Sun and Summit 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon - Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area
Sun and Summit is a multi-distance trail race held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area in Los Angeles. The course uses marked out-and-back loops on park trails and is an open course shared with pedestrians, runners, and cyclists; participants are asked to be courteous to others on the trail.
The surface is a mix of pavement and hard packed dirt or gravel and includes a steep hill about 0.25 miles long. An aid station at the turnaround near the start/finish provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and gel packets.
Distances offered:
- 5 km out and back
- 10 km two 5 km loops
- 15 km three 5 km loops
- Half marathon (13.1 mi) three 4.36 mi out and back loops
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free photos and videos, posted results within 12 to 24 hours, and an assortment of snacks and samples. The event notes a no refund policy and allows transfers by request to the organizer.
