Race for Education 5K - Paramount

Event Overview
The Race for Education is an annual running and walking event organized by the City of Paramount. It takes place at Paramount Park on Paramount Blvd. The event includes a 5K Run & Walk and a 1K Fun Run, which is not timed.
Event Details
Funds raised from the event support the Paramount Education Partnership (PEP) Scholarship program. After the run, there is a Health and Wellness Fair with resources, fitness activities, and giveaways.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K Run & Walk
- 1K Fun Run (Not Timed)
The start line for both distances is at the corner of Paramount Blvd. and 3rd St. The 5K course is USATF certified. Water stations are available on the course. Strollers and wagons are allowed in both events but must start at the back. Dogs on leashes are permitted, but skates and bicycles are not allowed on the course.
Participant Information
All registered participants receive a race medal and an event t-shirt, though shirts are not guaranteed for late registrations. The 1K runners receive a different medal. There is same-day registration available. Packet pickup occurs on the Thursday and Friday before the event. Parking is free at the Bianchi Theatre across from the park.
