Sun and Summit 5k 10k 15k Half Marathon : Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area
Sun and Summit takes place on August 9, 2026 at Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area in Los Angeles (4200 La Cienega Blvd). The event offers multiple measured route options that use marked out and back loops on park trails. The course is open to other park users and participants should be courteous to pedestrians, runners, and cyclists.
The trail surface includes a mix of pavement and hard packed dirt or gravel. A notable uphill section of about 0.25 miles is on the course; the route provides park views from the top of that climb. An aid station is located at the turnaround near the start/finish and supplies water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free race videos, age-group awards, live results on finish, free photos and cinematic race highlight reels, trophies and achievement badges, and access to the event app and Ascend Index features. Volunteer roles can provide a free race entry. Group discounts are offered for groups of three or more with additional group options available.
Transfers are allowed only by request to the organizer and there is a no refund policy. Parking within Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area has a fee of $10 per vehicle and park lots are available near the start and finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
