Absolute Beach Virginia Beach

Absolute Beach is a hybrid fitness race taking place on June 27, 2026, at 37th Street in Virginia Beach. The event features a 6 km total distance set along the coastline. The course combines running with functional fitness stations positioned in a beachfront environment.

The race begins with a pre-race station involving a two-minute maximum effort on a StrengthErg (chest press). Every 10 kg/m achieved on this machine reduces the final race time by one second. Following this, the race consists of several specific performance stations:

  • 30 reps of over the shoulder medicine ball tosses (40 lbs for women, 80 lbs for men).
  • 700 m on a SkiErg.
  • 70 m of weighted lunges (20 lbs for women, 60 lbs for men).
  • A 2 km run.
  • 200 m suitcase carry.
  • 700 m on a RowErg.
  • 1200 m on a BikeErg.
  • A second 2 km run.
  • 150 m sandbag sled drag (40 lbs for women, 80 lbs for men).
  • A final 2 km run.

Participants can choose between different entry levels. The Absolute Division requires athletes to wear a weight vest throughout the entire race (20 lbs for men and 12 lbs for women), excluding the pre-race station. While qualification times are necessary for the Absolute Division to ensure similar fitness levels in start waves, the standard group allows for registration without previous time submissions.
