Absolute Beach is a shoreline hybrid fitness race held on 37th Street in Virginia Beach, VA. The course covers 6.0 kilometers of coastline and combines running segments with multiple beach workout stations and erg pieces, including RowErg, SkiErg, and BikeErg.
A pre-race StrengthErg station is completed before the start line. It is a two minute, max effort push performed without the race vest. Every 10 kg/m on the StrengthErg deducts 1 second from the final race time.
The event includes structured performance stations with specified weights and distances. For the Absolute Division athletes wear a weight vest for the entire race except during the StrengthErg. Vest weights are Men 20 lbs and Women 12 lbs. Qualification times are optional for start wave placement and required for the Absolute Division. Verified times may be uploaded from a GPS watch, fitness tracker, phone app, or equipment screen. All qualification uploads must be completed no later than 31 days before race day.
