Abington Festival of Running - 4 October 2026
The Abington Festival of Running is a community organised, UKA licensed road running event in Great Abington, Cambridgeshire. Now in its 21st year, the event takes place within and around Granta Park and the villages of Little and Great Abington. Event Licence Number #31593.
Every entry raises funds for Great Abington Primary School, a registered charity (No. 1136060). The event is organised by the local community and aims to bring together runners and families from the area.
Facilities and race services include chip timing, a finisher's medal, water stations, medical support, run marshals, free parking and post-race refreshments. The 5K and 10K routes are officially measured and are registered to count towards UKA times.
Race choices:
- 10K Road Race: UKA licensed, mainly flat route around Little and Great Abington.
- 5K Road Race: UKA licensed, two laps within the grounds of Granta Park.
- 2K Fun Run: family friendly, approximately 2 km, entirely within Granta Park and traffic free.
Prize giving and category awards are part of the event programme. The festival format includes separate options for competitive and fun running while keeping the races within the park and nearby village roads. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
