About the race
The Menai Holidays Abersoch Triathlon takes place in Abersoch, a seaside town in North Wales, on Saturday 19 June 2027. The event is organised as part of the Abersoch Triple Crown by Sensation Group and offers multiple race formats on the same day.
Distances
- Olympic distance: 1,500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint distance: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
The programme begins with a sea swim in Abersoch's sheltered bay. The bike course uses a 20 km lap that is ridden once for the sprint and twice for the Olympic distance, with sections closed to traffic. The run combines beach, trail and road underfoot and both triathlon races finish on Abersoch beach.
A Dual in the Crown option allows competitors to complete both triathlon distances in one day and earns an exclusive commemorative mug. The weekend also includes a 1 km beach race for young runners, which awards a zinc alloy finisher medal with trophies and cash prizes for category winners.
A run sup run event is included in the programme in memory of a local figure, organised in aid of Move Against Cancer; the course combines running and paddleboard legs and the event states 100% of entry fees go to the charity.
