Menai Holiday Cottages Abersoch Triathlon
The Menai Holiday Cottages Abersoch Triathlon is held in the North Wales seaside town of Abersoch as part of the Abersoch Triple Crown organised by Sensation Group. The event features two main race formats and additional community races.
Distances:
- Olympic: 1,500m swim | 40km bike | 10K run
- Sprint: 750m swim | 20km bike | 5km run
The triathlon begins with a sea swim in Abersoch's sheltered bay. The bike course uses a 20km lap that is completed once for the sprint and twice for the Olympic distance; parts of the bike route are closed to traffic. The run combines beach, trail and road surfaces and finishes on Abersoch beach.
Race support and event infrastructure are provided along the course, and the event includes post-race music and a beach bar. There is also a Dual in the Crown option for participants who complete both the Olympic and Sprint races in the same day, with a commemorative mug awarded to successful dual finishers.
The event takes place alongside other community activities including a 1km beach race for young runners and a Run SUP Run fundraiser event that includes beach running and a paddleboard section.
