Abbots Langley Tough Ten
Abbots Langley Tough Ten is a community road race held at Manor House Grounds, Gallows Hill Lane, Abbots Langley WD5 0DD. The event began in 1982 and has been held for over 40 years. The organisers describe the main course as hilly.
The event is staged under UK Athletics rules and holds a UKA licence. Race maps are available for the 3K, 5K and 10K courses. Entrants are encouraged to collect sponsorship money for local good causes in Abbots Langley and the surrounding area; schools may keep 50% of sponsorship they raise.
Races and minimum ages:
- 10K - minimum age 16+
- 5K - minimum age 11+
- 3K - minimum age 9+
- 1K Fun Run - minimum age 4+
All participants receive a medal. In each distance the first three males and females in the competing age categories receive trophies. The 10K includes named cups for the fastest male and female and additional awards for age categories, including senior and veteran age thresholds. Volunteers who marshal the course are provided a complimentary drinks token redeemable at Abbots Langley Cricket Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
