A Run to Remember - Half Marathon & 5K
A Run to Remember is scheduled for July 19, 2026 in Sylvan Beach, NY. The event offers two distance options: a 13.1 mile half marathon and a 3.1 mile 5K, both run on an identical out-and-back, lakeside course that starts and finishes at Oneida Lake Brew Haus and turns around at North Bay Fireman's Field.
The event is held in memory of members of the Spellicy family and also honors law enforcement, first responders, and military personnel. One hundred percent of entry proceeds will be donated to the Sylvan Beach and North Bay Fire Departments. Entry fees listed are $60 for the half marathon and $30 for the 5K; the first 150 registrants receive an event T-shirt.
A voluntary push-up challenge is offered for a $5 buy-in; participants may attempt 400 push-ups during the half marathon, structured as eight sets of fifty. Race day includes participant check-in at Oneida Lake Brew Haus to pick up bibs, timing chips, and race swag. The day concludes with an after party at the Brew Haus featuring live music, food, and drinks.
