A Race for the Rest of Us
Senior & Disability Services, a division of Lane Council of Governments, hosts the 6th annual A Race for the Rest of Us to raise funds for the Senior Meals Program in Lane County. The event offers both in person and virtual options over a very short distance of 0.5k.
Distances:
- In person 0.5k
- Virtual 0.5k
The course at the in person location is flat concrete sidewalk. Every participant receives a T shirt, a finisher medal, and a race sticker. Packet pick up is available on Friday, July 31 at 859 Willamette St., Eugene, and on race day at the event location; virtual participants may have packets shipped. Shirts and bibs are printed specifically for each participant and registrations cannot be changed after payment. The preferred T shirt size deadline is July 12 and preferred sizes may not be available after that date.
Proceeds support the Senior Meals Program, which operates nine Cafe 60 meal sites, serves over 36,000 Cafe 60 meals, and delivers over 96,000 Meals on Wheels annually, reaching more than 1,400 Lane County seniors. The event is open to walking, running, rolling, strollers, and leashed dogs. Registration fees vary by age group with reduced pricing for seniors aged 60 and older.
