A Midsummer Night's Run 5K
The 42nd annual A Midsummer Night's Run takes place in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. This event features a chip-timed race on paved road surfaces, starting and finishing at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. The program includes several participation options:
- 3.1 Miles: A 5K run or walk through the heart of the city.
- 50 Yards: The "Fastest Kid in Town" dash for children aged 2 to 12.
- Virtual 3.1 Miles: An off-site option for participants who prefer to complete the distance independently.
The 5K course welcomes walkers and strollers, though dogs are not permitted to participate. Participants receive a commemorative race T-shirt and access to free race photos. The event environment includes entertainment from a DJ and food trucks on-site.
Competition categories are organized for the top three male and female overall finishers, as well as the top three in age groups ranging from 14 and under to 80 plus. Children in the youth dashes compete in specific age brackets, with winners of each group advancing to determine an overall fastest participant.
