A Memory Grows Legacy 5K Fun Run : Fort Worth, TX

A Memory Grows is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides outreach and resources to grieving parents and to hospitals, clinics, hospice groups, churches and other nonprofit organizations. Since 2017 the organization has provided retreats, special events, resources and support to parents in 17 states and Canada.

The Legacy 5K Fun Run is the organization’s annual run and walk in Fort Worth. The event is open to anyone who wishes to honor the lives and legacies of children. Registration options include individual, team and virtual entries; registrations completed by March 1 are guaranteed a t-shirt and virtual entries include t-shirt shipping. The race is not officially timed by a timing company, though many serious runners participate. Participants typically include parents who have experienced the death of a child, friends and family of grieving parents, community supporters, and casual or serious runners and walkers.

The 5K route begins and ends on the Trinity River side of the Acme Brick offices and follows the Trinity Trails. The turnaround point is about 100 yards before the Clearfork Main Street bridge that crosses the Trinity Trails. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Fort Worth Running Company; teams may send one person to collect all team packets.

All proceeds support retreats and special events for families grieving the death of a child and help the organization expand services and reach. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
