Event information

A Guided Run: The Western edge of Dartmoor takes place on 19 October 2025 and starts in the centre of Peter Tavy village next to the church. The route is approximately 11 miles. Entry fee until 18 October 2025 is £5.00; a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies to each sign-up. The event has 25 total places and is listed as open. Parking in the village is limited, so car sharing is suggested. A lift-share is offered from Tavistock Beford Square with eight seats available.

Route details

The route follows mainly good trods and tracks with a limited amount of tarmac. The first 1.5 miles are gently uphill. Points on the route include Stephen's Grave, a Neolithic settlement on White Tor noted as one of the few that is not granite, and the Bronze Age Langstone on the way east. The course then turns northwest to the River Tavy, returns to Peter Tavy via a leat, and includes a short climb up to Smeardon Down. Trail shoes are required.
