4th Annual 988 Run Out Of The Darkness 5K/10K
The 4th Annual 988 Run Out Of The Darkness takes place in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. Sponsored by the Perkasie Rotary Club and the Free Will Brewing Company, this event serves to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Bucks County. The race is held at the Perkasie Little League Baseball Fields and utilizes the paths through Lenape Park.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course is located in Lenape Park and is described as a flat and shaded route. Both distances start simultaneously. The 5 km distance consists of a single loop, while the 10 km distance requires two loops of the same course. Runners have the flexibility to change their distance during the event until the completion of the first loop. Those who enter the finish chute after one lap are recorded as 5 km finishers. Walking participants are welcome to join but are limited to the 5 km distance.
The venue at the baseball fields provides ample parking for attendees. The location is situated less than half a mile from the Free Will Brewing Company on East Walnut Street. Registered participants over the age of 21 receive a coupon for the brewery, which opens its doors during the event morning to accommodate the athletes.
