The 988 Run Out of Darkness – 4th Annual
The event is a community road race held in Perkasie, Pennsylvania at the Pennridge Little League Fields, 200 W. Walnut Street. The race benefits the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Bucks County and is presented by the Perkasie Rotary Club with support from Free Will Brewing Company.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K (two-loop course)
The course uses Lenape Park and begins at the baseball fields off Walnut Street. Ten kilometer entrants run two loops; participants may change their intended distance until after completing the first loop. Runners who enter the finish chute after the first loop will be recorded as 5K finishers. Walkers are welcome but limited to the 5K.
Awards are given male and female for both distances: overall places 1 to 3 and age-group awards for each listed division (9 and under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+). Quality short-sleeve technical shirts are provided to preregistered runners and while supplies last on race day. There is ample parking at the baseball fields; the fields are under half a mile from Free Will Brewing at 411 E. Walnut Street. Runners over age 21 receive a coupon for a free beer and the brewery will open to accommodate participants.
Registration fees vary by date and shirt option, with reduced and postmark deadlines applying. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
