The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K is a community event held on September 12, 2026 at Audubon Park Bandstand, 6500 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70118. It honors the heroes of 9/11 and those who have served since, and activates and unites communities while supporting local veterans, active duty service members, first responders, and families of the fallen.
The event offers multiple 5K divisions with different entry fees and roles. Available divisions include a paid 5K Run, a paid 5K Ruck division, a paid 5K Run labeled PUSHER, an unpaid RIDER honor bib division, and a Volunteer role with no fee. Registration fees shown for specific divisions include $31 for the PUSHER 5K, $36 for one 5K Run entry, and $41 for the 5K Ruck division; some divisions list no fee.
Rucking is offered through a partnership with GORUCK. Rucking is described as a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks.
