The 9 Locks Challenge is a canal-side running event organised by OP Events / StuWeb Race Timing Ltd. The course is 10 km and runs along the canal from Stourbridge, up the nine locks (Delph Locks), to the Merry Hill / Brierley Hill finish. The locks section is timed from bottom to top. The event is listed on dates including Sunday 30th November 2025 and Sunday 31st May 2026.
Logistics
The listed start location is the Bonded Warehouse, Stourbridge (postcode DY8 4LU) and the finish area is at Brierley Hop House / Waterfront, Merry Hill (postcodes DY5 1XD / DY5 1XA). Competitors are advised to park at the Waterfront finish area where parking is free, then use coach transport provided as part of the entry fee to reach the start and run back to their vehicle. Organisers plan to operate multiple coaches (around three 53-seaters) that cycle until all competitors are transported; the journey is described as about ten minutes depending on route and traffic. Registration and bib collection take place on the day at the Bonded Warehouse. Facilities noted include toilets at the start and finish, a bag drop, and a water station at the halfway / 5 km point.
