9 Locks Challenge
The 9 Locks Challenge is a point to point 10K run between Stourbridge and Brierley Hill along a historic canal route. The course follows canal towpaths and paths that combine leafy sections with remnants of industrial character. The route includes a notable nine-lock climb in the final stretch.
The event is held in two editions in 2026: a summer date on Sunday 31 May and a winter date on Sunday 29 November. The start area is shown as postcode DY8 4LU and the finish area as postcode DY5 1XD. A water station is provided at the 5 km halfway point.
Logistics are organised from the finish area at the Waterfront in Brierley Hill. Parking is available at the Waterfront car park (postcode DY5 1XA) with no charge; parking near the Hop House requires payment. Coach transport from the finish area to the start is included in the entry fee; organisers operate multiple coaches that cycle until all competitors are transported. Registration and bib collection take place at the Bonded Warehouse on event day. A bag drop is provided but may not arrive at the finish area before some competitors finish. Finishers receive a one-off medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
