Event

The 9 Locks 10K Challenge is a point-to-point run from Stourbridge to Brierley Hill along a historic canal route. The course distance is 10K and includes the nine-lock climb in the final stretch. The event offers a one-off finisher medal. The organiser operates a seeded start and provides a race briefing video. The 2026 dates listed are Summer - Sunday 31st May 2026 and Winter - Sunday 29th November 2026.

Logistics

The start area is listed with postcode DY8 4LU and the finish area with postcode DY5 1XD. Registration and bib collection take place on the day at the Bonded Warehouse. Coach transport is provided free from the finish area to the start; the plan includes up to three 53-seater coaches that circulate until all competitors are transported, with an approximate journey time of 10 to 15 minutes. Parking is free in the Waterfront car park (postcode DY5 1XA); parking near the Hop House is charged and requires payment via an app. Toilets are available at the Bonded Warehouse and at the finish in Wetherspoons / Hop House. A bag drop is provided but may not arrive at the finish before a runner finishes. A water station is located at 5 km (the halfway point). Race numbers are collected on the day.
