9-11 Holt Hero Run
The 9/11 Holt Hero Run is a community running event in Holt, Michigan, held at 2074 Aurelius Rd. The event includes a 5K run/walk that follows a course passing the Delhi Township Fire Department, continuing south on Aurelius through a residential subdivision and finishing in Holt Plaza at the 9/11 Memorial.
The event is organized by local public safety and veterans organizations and benefits two local charities: the 100 Club of Greater Lansing, which supports families of police officers and firefighters who died in the line of duty within Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties, and Camp Liberty, which provides outdoor activities and mental healing programs in Brooklyn, MI.
Registration offers a pre-registration tier of $35 that includes a race T-shirt through September 1; fees increase to $40 afterward and at on-site registration. Additional T-shirts are available for purchase for $20, cash only. Early packet, bib, and shirt pickup are available on the days immediately before the race at the Delhi Fire Department office and on race day at Delhi Memorial Gardens.
Awards are given to overall and masters winners, with gold, silver, and bronze medals for age-group placements across standard age categories. The event is professionally timed and results are published after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
