Event overview

The 8 Hours of Brown County is an Indiana Trail Running Association event held at Brown County State Park in Nashville, IN, from June 19 to June 21, 2026. This is the seventh annual edition. The event uses the Recreation Center next to Rally Camp 1 as the base for the day. The format is an open 8-hour course rather than a timed race; participants may run, hike, or walk as much or as little as they want during the 8-hour period. A Garmin Challenge award will be given to the male and female participants who record the most mileage on their GPS devices.

Course, support, and fees

  • about 6 miles single-track main loop
  • about 3 miles short rugged loop

Both loops start and finish at the Recreation Center next to Rally Camp 1. There will be a staffed aid station at the start/finish area and a fill-up station at Rally 1, approximately 2 miles into the main loop. Participants are asked to bring their own hydration container; cups will be available. Camping is available at Rally Camp 1 for the weekend. Indiana Trail Running Association members attend at no charge; non-members are charged fees for the run and optional camping. Proceeds benefit the Indiana Trail Running Association. The event policy states there are no refunds if the event is canceled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
