Event overview
The 8 Hours of Brown County is organized by the Indiana Trail Running Association and is scheduled for June 19–21, 2026 in Nashville, Indiana at Brown County State Park. The main 8-hour run takes place on June 20, 2026. This is the association's seventh annual running event. The event is presented as a non-competitive, timed course rather than a traditional race, with a few special awards given after the event.
Course
The event uses looped trail courses that start and finish at the Recreation Center next to Rally Camp 1.
- ~6 miles single-track main loop
- ~3 miles short rugged loop
Participants may complete the loops as many times as they wish during the 8-hour period.
Support and logistics
Optional weekend camping is available; Rally Camp 1 has been reserved for the weekend. There will be a staffed aid station at the start/finish area and a fill-up station at Rally 1, about 2 miles into the main loop. Participants are asked to bring their own hydration container; cups will be available. Meals and shared food are part of the event offerings. Indiana Trail Running Association members may attend at no cost as a membership benefit; non-members pay event and camping fees. Registration opens February 21, 2026. Proceeds support the Indiana Trail Running Association and there are no refunds if the event is canceled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
