5K9 Dog Jog in Cary, NC
The 5K9 Dog Jog is a fundraising 5K event hosted by Vets to Vets United at the WakeMed Soccer Park cross-country course in Cary, North Carolina on September 26, 2026. The event is dog friendly and uses wide natural trails and open rolling fields on the cross-country course.
Vets to Vets United is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that matches Veterans with rescued shelter dogs and provides the intensive training needed for those dogs to serve as life-saving service animals. It takes $25,000 to complete a single service dog training program, and 100% of event proceeds are directed to those training costs.
Registration is offered in-person and as a virtual 5K. A guaranteed event T-shirt requires registration by August 19, 2026. Registration tiers include Early Bird, Standard, Late, a Virtual 5K option without a T-shirt, and a shirt-only option; prices vary by registration period.
On race day there are timed results for top finishers, with 1st through 3rd place awards for men and women and commemorative awards for the oldest and youngest finishers. Live results are available on a mobile app and on-site kiosks. The day includes a vendor village, animal rescue displays, live music, refreshments for participants and dogs, and raffles.
