18TH Annual 5K Walk/Run for Cancer Center
The 18th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Cancer Center takes place on September 19, 2026, in the Griffin Hospital neighborhood, 350 Seymour Avenue, Derby, Connecticut. The event is non competitive and family friendly and is presented as a community occasion to honor, remember, and celebrate the patients of The Center for Cancer Care. The event runs rain or shine.
Proceeds are dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized cancer care and to help ease the financial burdens Griffin's cancer patients face during treatment. Registration includes a race t-shirt; t-shirt size is guaranteed for registrations completed by September 4. Pricing is listed with an early bird rate of $35 through September 7 and a regular rate of $40 from September 8 through September 18.
Fundraising awards include the William C. Powanda Memorial Award for the top fundraising individual, the Team Synergy Award for the top fundraising team, and the Make It Happen Award for the individual or team judged to best embody the spirit of the 5K. Those preferring to donate by check can mail contributions to Griffin Hospital Development Fund, Attn: 5K Walk/Run, 130 Division Street, Derby, CT 06418 with the team or individual name noted in the check memo.
