5k Run for Mental Health and Wellness
The 5k Run for Mental Health and Wellness is a community event held in New Lenox, Illinois. Organized by the New Lenox School District 122 PTO, the Wellness Committee, and the New Lenox Safe Community Coalition, the event focuses on supporting social-emotional learning and habits of wellness for students, staff, and the local community.
Participants can choose to run or walk the designated distance. The event features two primary registration options:
- 5k (all ages)
- 5k (all ages, shirt not included)
Beyond the race, the event hosts a Wellness Fair. This fair includes local businesses providing information on mental, physical, and nutritional health, as well as self-care practices. Family-oriented activities and food trucks are also present on-site.
This is a non-profit initiative. All proceeds and donations are distributed equally between the New Lenox School District 122 Wellness Committee and the New Lenox School District 122 PTO. These funds support various educational and health-related efforts, including library and arts program enhancements, recess equipment, academic grants, and student scholarships. Packet pick-up is provided both the day before the event at Village Hall and on the morning of the race at the event location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
