5K Kilt Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K run and walk held at the Hammond Historical Museum in Hammond, NY on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The event proceeds rain or shine at the museum location, 1A North Main Street, Hammond, NY 13646. Registered participants receive a free admission ticket to the Scottish Festival, and those who register by Friday, July 3 receive a free T-shirt.
The event is organized into two divisions: Youth (ages 7–12) and Adult (ages 13 and up). The adult fee schedule is published by date: Early Bird 2/1–2/28 $20, 3/1–3/31 $25, 4/1–4/30 $30, and 5/1–7/12 $35. Online registration closes July 10, and day-of registration is permitted. There is a grand prize drawing limited to the first 100 registrants in each division; winners must be present for the drawing.
Special prizes are listed for the first male and female adult finishers and the first male and female youth finishers, with those prizes donated by a race sponsor. Beverages will be provided at the finish line by Ogdensburg Pepsi Bottlers. The event is described as non-competitive; a stopwatch time can be provided as participants cross the finish line.
A kilt is required to participate. Basic kilt requirements are pleated back, apron front, and tartan. The organizer suggests Stillwater Kilts as a low-cost source for kilts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
