5K Kilt Run/Walk at Hammond Historical Museum
The event is a 5K run and walk held as part of the Hammond Scottish Festival on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Hammond Historical Museum, 1A North Main Street, Hammond, NY 13646. The event proceeds rain or shine.
Participants are divided into two divisions by age: Youth (ages 7 to 12) and Adult (ages 13 and up). The Adult division registration fees vary by registration period, with early bird and later rates listed by month. Online registration ends July 10 and day of event registration is available. Participants who register by Friday, July 3 receive a free T-shirt. All registered participants receive a free admission ticket to the Scottish Festival.
A kilt is required to run or walk in the event. Basic kilt requirements are listed as a pleated back, an apron front, and tartan material. Various tartan plaids are available.
The event is non-competitive; finish-line stop-watch times are available. Special prizes will be awarded to the first male and female in the adult division and the first male and female in the youth division, with prizes donated by race sponsors. There will also be a grand prize drawing limited to the first 100 registrants in each division; winners must be present.
