Thousand Islands Triathlon & Runs
The Thousand Islands Triathlon & Runs takes place in Brockville, starting from Centeen Park. A notable feature of the event is the run course, which passes through the oldest railway tunnel in Canada. This tunnel section is 500 meters long and features music and integrated lighting.
The event offers several race options for different disciplines and distances:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500m swim, 40km bike, and 10km run.
- Olympic Swim Cycle: 1500m swim and 40km bike.
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run.
- Sprint Duathlon: 5km run, 20km bike, and 2.5km run.
- Try a Tri: 200m swim, 20km bike, and 2.5km run.
- 10K Run: 10km running race.
- 5K Run: 5km running race.
The bike course is held on roads open to traffic. Due to this requirement, the participants must be at least 16 years old. Registrants receive professional timing, a swim cap for aquatic events, on-course nutrition, and post-race snacks. The event setup features short transition distances between legs. Awards are presented to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers in each race category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
