About the race
5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is part of St. John the Baptist FallFest 2026 in New Brighton, Minnesota. The event is centered at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; the start and finish are in the church parking lot west of the building. The run is scheduled for September 26, 2026.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K (non-certified 3.1-mile course on city streets)
- 1 Mile (course on city streets)
The course uses local city streets and begins and ends at the church parking lot. Packet pick-up is available during FallFest on Friday, September 25, and on race day. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine. Participants receive an SJB mesh swag bag and one free drink ticket for FallFest activities; additional door prizes will be awarded. Pets are not allowed.
Individual early entry fees are listed for each distance and increase by $10 after September 14. Family discount rates are offered with specific tiers for the 1 Mile, the 5K, and combined entries; combined family entries that include participants in both races require a paper registration form returned to the parish office. Finishers receive medals distributed by the following age ranges: for the 1 Mile : 0–8, 9–13, 14–35, 36–54, 55+; for the 5K : 0–14, 15–35, 36–54, 55+.
