5km For Charley Mae
An inaugural community 5 km run and walk at Joe Sams Leisure Park, Centre Road, Waterdown, Ontario, organized in support of McMaster Children's Hospital. Net proceeds will help fund care for children and families.
The event permits wheelchairs and strollers only; for safety reasons bicycles and scooters are not allowed. The schedule includes welcome and announcements, a warm up hosted by ALTA Spine and Sports Therapy, the 5 km run/walk, and a post-event area with food trucks, vendors, and information tents.
Registration fees listed in the event information are CA$35.00 for kids ages 5 to 12 and CA$50.00 for adults; children under 5 do not require registration. Fundraising activity is part of the event; current fundraising shows CA$3,095.32 raised toward a CA$25,000.00 goal.
