5K for CASA
The 5K for CASA is an inaugural community running event hosted by the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Texas at Dallas. The event marks 30 years of the chapter's presence at the university and supports philanthropic efforts for the National CASA/GAL Association for Children and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation. The primary goal of the event is to support volunteer advocates who assist children and families within the child welfare system.
The event features several participation options to accommodate different interests and abilities:
- 5K for CASA
- The Mighty Mile
- Rover Run
- Virtual Run
- Post-Race Market
The course is located in Richardson, Texas, with the start and finish lines situated in Parking Lot F of the UT Dallas Activity Center. The 5K route is a USATF certified course (TX25001MWC). The event is open to participants of all ages, and the Rover Run specifically welcomes pets. In addition to the physical races, a virtual option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Attendees can also visit a post-race market held on-site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
