51fiver Cotswold Standard Distance Triathlon
The event takes place on Sunday 16 May 2027 at Lake 32 in the Cotswold Water Park near Cirencester (GL7 6DF). The 2026 event sold out.
The triathlon begins with a one-lap 1500 m swim in Lake 32. Competitors move to a nearby transition for a 40 km bike on a predominantly flat course that passes through local villages including Ewen, Kemble, Crudwell, Charlton, Minety and Ashton Keynes. Road surfaces on the bike route are described as very good with long stretches suitable for sustained speed. The run is a single lap of local roads, pancake flat and all on tarmac.
The Aquabike follows the same swim and bike legs; competitors do not complete the run and timing stops when they return to transition.
Start format options include a mass start or a rolling start where competitors begin one at a time every two or three seconds. Wetsuits are likely to be mandatory and surf wetsuits are not permitted. Registration occurs on Saturday 14:00 to 16:00 and Sunday 05:15 to 06:50. Spectators are permitted.
Facilities and services include chip timing with splits and run laps, live to web results, medals and finisher goodies, on-site catering, race photography, and a partnership with Brownlee Fitness offering a training plan discount on booking confirmations.
