5 Peaks - Heart Lake (Heart Lake Conservation Park)
The event takes place at Heart Lake Conservation Park, named for a spring‑fed kettle lake that is roughly heart shaped. The course runs through shaded trails that display fall colours.
Multiple distances are offered, and maps provide elevation gain and loss plus aid station locations. Race distances and maps may change based on trail conditions up to race day.
- Kid's Run 3 km
- Sport Run or Hike 7.5 km
- Enduro Run or Hike 14.6 km
- Grit Run 22.5 km
This is a cup free event. Water and an electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations on course. Participants expected to be out longer than an hour should carry a receptacle for drinking and transporting calories and electrolytes.
Rules for the race course include no dogs, no headphones, no strollers or baby joggers, and no nordic walking poles. Washroom facilities are available at the start and finish area. Parking is free but limited; the Birchmount parking area near the Wild Wetland Splash and Pool is suggested.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each gender and age category for each distance, plus the top three overall male and female finishers. Awards must be picked up at the event and will not be mailed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
