4th of July Mini-Marathon (2.6 miles)
The event is a community fun run listed as a 2.6 mile mini-marathon held along the route of the Monmouth Independence 4th of July Parade. The course is one way, mostly downhill, and follows the parade route from a start near Monmouth City Park to a finish on Main Street in Independence, Oregon. The elevation drop from start to finish is 47 feet.
Registration opens April 1, 2026. Entry fees vary by age and date: Ages 9 and under are listed at $10 until June 30; ages 10 and up are listed at $20 until June 15, $25 from June 16 until July 3, and $30 on the day of the event. Both in-person registration and day of race registration are provided in addition to pre-registration.
Bib pickup is scheduled the day before at Anytime Fitness in Independence and on the day of the event outside the Monmouth Fitness Club; locations are given for both dates. Finishers receive a medal. Ribbons are available for top finishers in each age group and overall and age group winners will be announced online after the event. Results will be posted on RunSignUp.
Age divisions are established for competitive placement and range from 9 and under through 80 and over, with multiple five year and ten year brackets for adult runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
