Event overview
The 4 Town 5k (Somers Great Escape) takes place on Saturday, 12 September 2026 at the Four Town Fairground, 56 Egypt Road, Somers, CT 06071. The race distance is 5k (3.1 miles) and the course is USATF certified (CT19030JHP). Entry is online only and the standard entry fee is $35. The fee includes a collectible finisher medal by Bumpa Built, a T-shirt, and complimentary admission to the Four Town Fair. All race proceeds benefit the Somers Recreation Department.
Course, rules and logistics
The course begins and ends inside the fairgrounds. It is generally flat with two short inclines and includes about 200 feet of gravel inside the fair. Water is provided at the halfway point and at the finish. Fully automatic timing with RFID chips is used; each timing tag is attached to the back of the bib and should not be bent. Bibs are assigned at check-in and must be worn on the front, visible above the waist. Participants must stay to the right of the painted double-yellow center lines; crossing the lines may result in disqualification. Participants must complete the course within 45 minutes, after which the course reopens to normal vehicle traffic. Parking is available at the Four Town Fair and is free. Pets are not allowed. Jogging strollers are permitted if the child is registered and wears a DOT-approved helmet. Refunds are not considered within 15 days of the race.
