The 4 on the Fourth is a holiday themed running event held in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, North Carolina. The event takes place on July 4, 2026, and features a scenic, runner-friendly route through the local neighborhood. Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 4 Miles
- Kids Mile
The race utilizes chip timing, with results calculated based on the individual time recorded as runners cross the start and finish lines. A time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes is in place for the event. Participants who register by June 15 are provided with a performance tank top and a finisher medal. While standard strollers and baby joggers are permitted on the course, dogs are not allowed for safety reasons.
Facilities at the start and finish area include portable toilets and medical services provided by Novant Health. There is one water station located along the course for participant hydration. Free parking is available for all attendees at the SouthPark Mall. The post-race environment includes a festival with live music, holiday-themed trivia, and an apple pie eating contest.
