Green Lake 4 on the 4th
The Green Lake 4 on the 4th is an annual Fourth of July fun run and walk held in Green Lake, Wisconsin. The event brings together local and visiting participants in a community effort that supports military veterans.
Distances
- Four mile run
- Two mile walk
The course uses Reilly's Pub in Markesan as the start and finish location, with a route that follows the shoreline of Green Lake. The event includes separate race categories and awards for the top three male and top three female runners.
The event emphasizes veteran support. All proceeds are donated to Green Lake American Legion Post 306, and to date the event has donated more than $25,000 to military veterans. The event also offers free registration for children age 12 and under.
Event logistics note that dogs are welcome on the walk. Participants should be aware there will be a three volley salute with rifles at the start as a traditional military honor. A registration desk on site provides a patriotic neck scarf for attendees.
The organizer lists registration as open for 2026 and maintains a race day photo gallery and contact details on the event site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
