The event offers certified road races over two distances on a course measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers. The route begins close to the Wheatsheaf Inn in Wetheral and finishes at Wetheral Community Hall. The races take place on quiet country roads and the terrain is described as undulating with approximate elevation changes of +233 / -244 ft for the 5 mile route and +448 / -460 ft for the 10 mile route.
Race numbers and timing chips are issued at registration and marshals are placed on course to assist competitors and direct them around the route. Competitors are asked to follow the race director and marshal instructions and to be aware of traffic and cyclists.
Prizes are awarded to the overall first, second and third for male and female, and age group prizes are allocated according to the number of competitors in each age group. Course record times are listed for each distance and gender.
Event and race day information, a full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and measurement certificate will be available at event headquarters on race day. Limited onsite parking is available with additional parking in surrounding streets and an encouragement to car share to reduce local disruption.
