22 Degree Run & Plunge 2.2 Mile
The event is centered at Walker Park in Brightwaters, NY, and pairs a 2.2 mile run/walk with a polar plunge in the Great South Bay. The run course is flat and described as scenic. There is no water stop on the 2.2 mile course.
On-site amenities listed for the event include Black 6 Project Coffee, hot cocoa, bagels and cookies, hot soup, a large heated tent, a changing station, and C4 energy drinks. Park restrooms are closed for the season; three portable toilets will be on site. The changing area includes four individual pop-up tents for quick clothing changes. Parking is available in lots across from the park, with access from S Bay Avenue and Bayway Avenue via Montauk Highway.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female veteran. Bib pickup is available on race day at Walker Park, and day-of registration accepts cash, check, or card. Virtual participants can upload times and photos during the stated upload window and receive swag items shipped beginning on the listed shipping date. Virtual distance tracking options include laps on a track, treadmill, or mapped routes with common running apps and certified course resources.
