22 Degree Run & Plunge 2.2 Mile
This event combines a 2.2 mile run or walk with a polar plunge at Walker Park in Brightwaters, NY. The run/walk course is flat and described as scenic. The plunge takes place at Walker Park in the Great South Bay. Registration is not yet open and will open ahead of the event date.
Onsite amenities listed for the event include coffee, hot cocoa, bagels and cookies, hot soup, a large heated tent, a changing station, energy drinks, and a DJ. Event services note same-day online results, free finish line video and photos, and shipment of swag items after the event.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female veteran. Bib pickup is available on race day and day of registration accepts cash, check, or charge. Participants who do not know their bib number can use a self lookup area. Bibs may be mailed to registrants; replacements can be arranged after confirming a shipping address.
Course logistics specify that there will be no water stop on the 2.2 mile course. Park restrooms are closed for the season and three portable toilets will be on site. Four individual pop up tents will serve as changing stations. Parking is available in lots across from the park, accessible from S Bay Avenue and Bayway Avenue via Montauk Highway.
Virtual participants can upload times and photos during the event upload window. Options for tracking distance include laps on a track, treadmill, MapMyRun, certified USATF courses, or fitness trails. Upload instructions direct participants to search the event, locate their name, enter a time, and optionally upload up to five photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
