22 Degree Run & Plunge 2.2 Mile
The 22 Degree Run & Plunge 2.2 Mile is a combined run/walk and polar plunge held at Walker Park in Brightwaters, NY. The running portion is a flat 2.2 mile course through Brightwaters and the plunge takes place at Walker Park in the Great South Bay. There will be no water stop on the 2.2 mile course.
Onsite amenities include Black 6 Project Coffee Trading Co., hot cocoa, bagels and cookies, hot soup, a large heated tent, a changing station with four individual pop up tents, C4 energy drinks, and a DJ. Park restrooms are winterized for the season and three portable toilets will be provided. Parking is available in lots across from the park, accessed from S Bay Avenue and Bayway Avenue.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female veteran. Bib pickup is offered at Walker Park on race day and day of registration accepts cash, check, and card. Registrations submitted at least three weeks before the event may receive a personalized race number, and a self lookup area is available for bib numbers.
Virtual participants have an upload window to submit times and photos and may track distance using laps on a track, treadmill, mapping apps, certified courses, measured fitness trails, or Strava.
