22 Degree Run & Plunge 2.2 Mile
The event combines a 2.2 mile run/walk with a polar plunge at Walker Park on the Great South Bay. The running course is described as flat and runs through Brightwaters. There is no water stop on the 2.2 mile course.
On-site amenities include Black 6 Project Coffee Trading Co., hot cocoa, bagels and cookies, hot soup, C4 energy drinks, a large heated tent, a changing station with four individual pop-up tents, and music provided by a DJ. Park restrooms are closed for the season; three portable toilets will be provided. Parking is available in lots across from the park, with access from S Bay Ave and Bayway Ave, both reachable from Montauk Highway.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female veteran. Bib pickup is available on race day and day-of registration is accepted with cash, check, or card; personalized race numbers were offered for registrations completed about three weeks before the event. Bib mailing begins the Monday before the event; late registrants may need additional time for shipping.
Virtual participants can upload times and up to five photos during a designated upload window and may track distance using a track, treadmill, certified courses, or running apps. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with same-day finish-line photos and video. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
