22 Degree Run & Plunge 2.2 Mile
The event combines a 2.2 mile run/walk with a separate polar plunge at Walker Park in Brightwaters, New York. The run course is described as flat and follows a scenic route through Brightwaters. There is no water stop on the 2.2-mile course.
Facilities and on-site services include coffee, hot cocoa, bagels and cookies, hot soup, C4 energy drinks, a large heated tent, a DJ, a changing station with four individual pop-up tents, and three portable toilets since park restrooms are winterized. Parking is available in lots across from the park and is accessed from S Bay Avenue and Bayway Avenue.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female veteran. Bib pickup is handled at the event site on race day and day-of registration is accepted with cash, check, or card; registering at least three weeks in advance can secure a personalized race number. Virtual participants can upload times and photos during a specified upload window and may record distance using a track, treadmill, mapping apps, or a certified course. Event registration is not yet open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
