12 Corners Wine Run 5k
The event is a chip-timed 5k run/walk that starts and finishes at 12 Corners Vineyards in Benton Harbor, Michigan (1201 N Benton Center Rd). The route follows grass and paved roads through the winery property and is described as scenic; it is not promoted as an optimal course for personal records. Both runners and walkers may participate.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, online results, and a pour of wine at the finish for those eligible. Packet pick-up is available on race day morning only, beginning one hour before the race.
Age group awards are offered for ten-year categories (19 & under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & over). The top three finishers in each age group receive custom awards. Competitive runners and age group winners must start with the first group or wave to be eligible; awards are available for pickup the day of the event only and will not be shipped. Results will be posted online.
Proceeds from the event support Sarett Nature Center, a 501(c)(3) community nature center with over 1000 acres, eight miles of trails, a nature center building, a tree top walkway, and live native animals.
Practical notes: minors may participate with a reduced registration and receive a shirt, medal, and bib but not the wine glass or pour. Strollers are permitted but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers may participate for free without registration. Dogs are not allowed on site.
